Thanks Joe. I assume you had to remove the baffles first.

David,

Yes, I did remove the baffles. They cleaned out the inside of the pipes pretty nicely. When I bought the baffles there was an option to have them ceramic coated as well. In hind sight I probably should have done this, it was like $5-10. Also I would recommend if you have any dings or small divots in your pipes like I did to try to sand them out as much as possible, another thing I wish I had done (the bottoms of my pipes had some divots in them from probably hitting on driveways) as these show up in the finish. I hadn’t thought about doing that.

So apologies, if this is a dumb question... If the mufflers run cooler - where does the heat go? Preferably out the back, right... I'm assuming that the mufflers conduct a certain amount of heat away from the engine - with the ceramic coating, is there a chance that they conduct less and some of the heat could be trapped resulting in a hotter engine...?

The hot exhaust is pushed out the engine with quite a bit of force. That exhaust would then heat up your exhaust system. With this coating, your exhaust sytem does not absorb as much of the heat, so the hot exhaust fumes continue out the tailpipe. This would keep your engine bay cooler.

Am I safe to assume that since the exhaust temperatures will be only slightly reduced, will the cats still get hot enough to turn blue?
