Angry post install problem, need help.

Took a big step last week had the following installed MO3O Front and rear springs, Bilstein Front and rear Struts, Shocks, 22mm front sways,20mm rear sways and new drop links and all bushings, picked the car up late on Friday, all appeared well till I got home and noticed that the front is sitting approx. 1 inch higher than the rear. Immediatally call the shop and they tolp me thats just the way it should be. To me this is crazy. The weird thing is that the car does drive much better than befpre, but still its higher that stock, and higher in the Front. Please help me with what the problem might be so I can tell the shop that did the install what to check....Thanks in advance

Eric

Can you post some pics of the car of ~level ground? Or, for rough numbers, measure from the ground to the fender lip, through the axle centerline..

Korny993,

Which springs did you have installed? US MO30 or RoW M030? That measurement seems awefully high for an RoW setup..

He probably screwed up with the adjusting collars on the shocks. Look behind the wheels at the collars holding the springs on. That height is absurd; your mechanic is an idiot.

Default suspension install problem please help...

Had Row MO3O springs, bilstein hd shocks and struts, MO3O front and rear sways installed by a local independent shop. Car hight is 28.5 inches in the front and 27inches in the rear. Shop says this is right and not to worry, I beg to differ, I need some other opinions as to what the proper hight should be and what the problem might be so I can push them to make it right.

Thanks in advance,

Eric

I agree could it be that the wrong springs were installed, he says he is using the lowest threads on the front and highest in the rear.

That part number matches USA M030 rear springs. Should have light blue paint marks.

How do you know this? You do know that the rear fender lips are lower than the front ones, right (this is true for most cars and not just Porsches)? If you aren't measuring from the ground to certain fixed suspension points then your measurements are not relevant for determining the levelness of your car. Have you tried placing a level on the doorsills?

And if your springs are indeed USA M030 as Viken has identified then your car will not sit any lower than stock and the ride height may/should settle a bit over the next few days.

Relative to other 993's, that is still a gigantic difference. If he used the lowest on the front and highest in the rear, I would assume that you have used US springs on the front and ROW in the rear. Where did you source the springs?

You are describing the rake and stance of the car. The factory specs call for 1 degree of rake where the front is lower than the rear. There was an extensive post on this back in Nov/Dec. that details how to measure and the $6 tool required.
