Default Steering rack brace

I've just been down my local porsche dealer to order a steering rack brace, What they have said to me is that the steering rack was changed on the 96 model and that the brace they supply is for that rack, then they went on to say that they had never fitted the brace to a 94 model and are not sure if it will fit.
Can anyone help me on this before i go ahead and order them.

Your dealer is wrong, 96 & newer rack is diffrerent from the early ones but it's the earl;y ones (like yours) that need the rack and it is designed for early cars, not 96 or newer.

Go back, tell them they're wrong and give you the bracket.

Yeah, just give them the part number and it'll fit.

Surprisingly, most dealers are just uninformed about the need for a steering rack brace on MY95. I had to convince my dealer that I needed it! With that said, when you look at it, you wonder how such a small piece of metal (similar to the size of a medium size closed end wrench) can really be that effective of a brace. Yet, it works.....No problems with 18 wheels with the brace installed.

Steve Weiner recommends getting the brace if you track your 993, even if it's just on 17" wheels.
