According to Texas title records, she paid $61,500 for the car in May-2004 and purchased it in Davidson, MD....... There is a lien against it so be careful.

Scott how could you tell that it sold in May 04'? I saw the transfer from MD to Texas, but it read as a Registration "renewal/registration event" same as every year it was previously renewed. Could it have just been the owner moving to Texas?
Thanks for your advise; I want to understand how to read those reports accurately.

how can you find out how much the new owner paid for it? Is that public?
If the car checks out, i think 61k is a great price .. despite the auction.

I have a subscription to www.publicdata.com for my business. With the VIN number or tag number you can find out the registration information and some brief owner history about the car. Additionally, you can find out what other cars the owner has at the same address.

Texas is a very public state about information...... Must go hand in hand with right to concealed carry, etc.

Anyway, I don't want to give away seller's names or addresses, but the previous owner in MD is a different person from the current owner.

At the end of the day, I would be concerned if the Texas buyer purchased this car unseen through ebay and is now trying to sell it a few months later.

The downside is there are NO decent Porsche mechanics in the Midland/Odessa area so a worthwhile PPI will be hard to get. If I weren't located 5 hours east of there, I'd gladly take a look at it.
