Try taking it to a wheel repair place or a look up a mobile wheel refinisher in the yellow pages. Steve96C4S discussed the possibility of buying one of these refinishing franchises many months ago, so try the archives.

Also, have you checked with your local PCA chapter to see who they would recommend?

Try searching the forums at www.audiworld.com for a refinisher near you. This is a big issue for those guys since they mostly use their cars as daily drivers.

Wurth makes a silver metalic paint that is spot-on color for stock wheels. If the rash is only in the paint, you can sand it out, mask it off, prime with self-etch primer and repaint. I have done this on my 964 and found the results to be quite acceptable (as long as you apply the 5 foot rule). I'd recommend the Wurth clear coat over the paint for protection.

Carbondale...Did you get dumped on this last week?

If you want to do it yourself, there is a classic DIY article on Audiworld. HERE is the link to the page and the article is at the bottom entitled "Home Guide to Wheel Scuff Repair"

Thumbs up

Anyone got a paint or paint code that match on the OEM (993) Technology or 996 Turbo wheels? Will the Wurth products mentioned above do the trick?

http://www.bmwtips.com/tipsntricks/w...uff-repair.htm

Maybe I answered my own question...see the above link for procedure with picutures! Gotta' love pictures!

Added: After looking at the picutures and reading the "how to" in that link, I've decided to make one intuitive change to the procedure...I'm going to remove the wheel from the car to do the work and painting a long ways from anything I don't want overspray on...too easy.

Thanks!

I'm not tyring to appear unresponsive, posted question from India while on a layover and just returned. When I get back to CO I'll take another look to see if this could be a DIY or maybe require Denver. Just very PO'ed when it happened and want to repair while car is down for winter. Thanks for the replys and leads in Denver area. I'm pretty close to Aspen (25mi.) and I suppose I should start there. PT
