I haven't got a data sticker on the underside of the bonnet. The car is said to be accident-free and Stuttgart factory said no accidents. Have I missed something? Am I being paranoid? Can this be replaced?

Unless the PO removed it for whatever reason I would investigate...hood may have been replaced or repainted.

Another possibility is that an unknowing owner or detailer may have removed the sticker. I believe that the sticker was placed on the car by the dealer. They were provided two stickers. One for under the hood and the second for the owners maintenance manual.

In some rare cases a dealer forgets to put the sticker in the trunk. This may be the case with your car.

Nice car you've got. I almost bought the black RS at the bottom of your page but a PPI suggested it may be wise to walk. Having said that, I still have to find out about my car.

I wouldn't worry about it. When I bought my car, I was doing a major cleanup and noticed this "crinkled" up sticker under the hood. I think it must be made of paper because it was real groody looking. Anyway, it peeled it off and tossed it - not knowing what it was.

If I had known that the missing sticker might eventually cause conversation, I would have taken a digital photo of it before peeling it off. Oh, well.

Don't sweat it.
