Wheel lock socket lost
Short of driving 200 miles to the nearest dealer, any ideas on how to replace a lost wheel lock socket "key"? I have no idea where it went. Worst thing is, I really can't blame it on anyone else since I used it last to replace brake pads. TIA

John,
The dealership has a "kit" which includes the different variations of factory wheel lock sockets which were originally supplied. Once they find the match, it can be ordered through their parts department. The cost should be less than $50.
My lock socket was missing when I bought my car. The matchup took all of five minutes (not including transit time to the dealership, of course) Good Luck!

It is remotely possible the original selling dealer may have a record, although I tend to doubt it. Sorry.

My dealer (My Porsche in CA) was
useless when I was trying to solve a similar
problem.
I contacted McGard directly. http://www.mcgard.com

In order to find the number that you need
without the kit (I know this is a stretch)
perhaps someone with a kit could put them
all on a copy machine and FAX it to you.
You could then match visually. Tricky since
some of the differece are small.
I have a #5 and I've got a feeling that's
the one you need :-). Let me know if you
want to try the copy/FAX idea.
