92 Octane - not 93
I just noticed while fueling that under the gas lid door of my '95 993 it states: "93 Octane".
I was pumping Texaco Super (in Seattle) which is 92 Octane. Is this a Seattle only, or W. Coast only thing where we have lower octane? I assume this is nothing to worry about...right? or do i need to consider additiives?
Thanks

Well, you should consider yourself lucky. Here in California, our premium just went from 92 to 91 octane. Your car should be fine with 92.
Also, look here Gasoline Question Thread for much talk about gasoline and octane.

The extra 25 cents/gallon is the price we pay for funding bureaucracies like CARB who make pollution disappear from the cities by mandating a low but creeping percentage of all electric cars, and making it reappear at a desert power plant where no voters will see it escaping into the ozone layer. Or who ignore the less mpg effect of lower octane in their calculations to get less pollution. Or who take the extra sales tax money for a promise of more mass transit, but all we have 20 years later is mostly feasibility studies where the spotted (pick your species) won out, or more diamonds painted on the fast lane so now only a few can get to work on time, well what work is left these days. Sorry, but it gets frustrating living in paradise.
