Post Tires for C4S

I know that this may repeat some of the past posts, but here goes.
I have an order in for 4 S02. My local shop ordered the N1's because they were readily available.
1) What is the difference betwen the N1 and N2?

I asked my local shop check on avaialbility of the S03, he replied that this is not an 'approved' tire from Porsche yet!

2) Should I get the S03's? Any rick to the car?

From what I read on the post yesterday, the tires seem fantastic!

Thank you!

FWIW, it is not necessary to have N-spec tires. The difference between N1 and N2 is generation. When a tire manufacturer makes a revision to a tire already approved by Porsche, they submit it for testing again and receive a higher N number. It doesn't matter which one you go with as long as you stick with the same number all around.

Great info...thanks

How about the new S03's? I hate to spend $1300 on the S)2';s when I get the latest and greatest S03's...any advice?

Personally, I prefer the Pirelli P-Zero Asimmetrico to the Bridgestone S-02 due to better dry grip, more precise steering response and better overall feel. However, some people seem to favor the S-02 based on a slightly superior wet weather performance. I don't know about the S-03 on the Porsche but it appears to be a tire targeted for high-performance sporty sedans rather than sport cars.

I have 4 reasonably new S02s 18s that came off my 4S when I went to 17s due to the road conditions in the Washington, DC area. Sell cheap!

These replaced the P-Zeros that I disliked. The S02s were considerably quitier, seemed to ride better and have better wet weather traction than the P-Zeros.

The S03 actually replaced the S02, you cannot buy S02's here in the UK anymore. The S02 is VERY soft, and will go off quickly if used on a dry track. Generally the wear rate for even normal road driving is very high, I know people that go through them in a couple of thousand miles. Upside is that wet weather grip is fantastic.

According to Bridgestone, the S03 is everything that the S02 was, but improved (ie still a performance tire). The people I know that have gone from S02 to S03 report them to be much of a much, still with high wear rate.

Regards
Eric
