Great story again, Bozo!
The color of your car is a color that brings back great Bozo type memories for me. My ex girlfriend in college went on to get married and her new husband bought her a 911 similar to yours. Not sure of the year but it was rather humbling to be a Porsche fan and have your ex show up with a 911.
Good luck!

Laughing out loud around midnight, in bed, waking up my wife who was wondering what the heck I was laughing about was really the perfect way to end a Monday!! Thanks so much. I really enjoyed the story.

'73.5, eh? From putting 120K miles on a '76 911S, good luck with:
- CIS warm-up regulator driving you batty ("Up-FIxin' " books from the Porsche Club have some fix-it articles).
- hot start problems due to the CIS failing to hold residual pressure (part of the above)
- needing to adjust distributor points every month (warning sign is tachometer starting to oscillate at constant engine speeds).
- tranny needing rebuilt every 30K miles or so (true on this and my '84 Carrera; the joys of the 915 tranny; synchros - esp. 1st - just wouldn't last).
(Sorry; would never go back to an older 911 after having owned my 993; this car is a dream!)
