Default How cool is Michael Schumacher...

say what you will about this individual-- and i know many have plenty to say...but this guy's 10 million dollar pledge to victums in aisa is appreciated on many levels. one more reason why this member is thrilled to have someone like ms represent and drive the ferrari entry in the formula one world championship. i don't care what the dude is worth. he's given a third (or so) of last years salary away because he understands that there are others who may indeed need it more than him. i don't care what the motivation (his bodyguard and family was killed), he did it.

thanks michael schumacher. many are better off today than yesterday.

Very generous of Schuey to contribute that way. Sad, though, that his bodyguard was killed.

Michael is indeed a classy guy... Regardless of motivation, he'd have stood up to be counted...

I agree completely. Actually there were a number of folks (I don't think Sandra Bullock is a big draw anymore - though I like her) that have really stood up to be counted and provide an example. I'm still waiting to hear about any US sports figures or even some of those rap/pop stars that I see cluttering up the top ten charts. Could be I'm not paying enough attention.

Thumbs up

Aside from his generosity, IMHO he's one of the greatest drivers, ever. Apart from Senna or Fangio of course.

cheers

Agree fully with solsrch. The man has set a fine example, and a bloody better one than the Fortune 500 company that I work for with its constant self accolades. When times are tough individuals of quality stand up. Respect.

All the best,

He showed that he not only has a heart racing but in real life as well. Great example!

Fantastic example of this man as a human being and not just a racing driver.
He is one of the greatest drivers ever - including Senna, Fangio, Clark etc etc and will be sorely missed by the sport when he hangs up his helmet.
Oldest man on the F1 grid this year......

He has proven himself once again as leader once again - as a sportsman as well as a character - congratulations to him and God bless him!

I wish more people with his kind of money would do their humanitarian part. So many spoiled athletes, actors and the like with their 10's of million dollars in yearly income. What have they done? Buy more bling bling? How can anyone who makes that kind of money not feel like he has a duty to give some back to those who are in desperate need? Another great giver is Bill Gates. say what you will about him but he is a big giver. That is how someone with that kind of money can be a hero very easily.

Kudos Schu

What about countries? It seems to me like the United States government could do alittle better than 35 times Shumacher. Wonder what we've spent on missiles to blow things up in Iraq? (Flame suit on).

A bunch of the NBA players were donating 1000.00 for each point they scored last night.
