They are the CF shell version and I got them from ByDesign some time ago when they were very difficult to get. Gert now sells the CF version as well as the GRP version.

Thanks for the compliments

Default 3-spoke wheel

The truth is that I am note sure how the steering wheel came to be. I went into Meridian Motors in Los Angeles, which is a Ferrari shop where a friend of mine does some stero work. I was browsing around in their shop and and saw the wheel; but wait, they work on Ferraris, not Porsche. I then made them an offer of $500 bucks which they refused.

Around Christmas my friend asked to borrow $400. I said yes, and when he came over to pay me back he delivered the wheel or the cash. I opted for the wheel at $400 including the airbag.

I was hesitant at first because I really wanted a silver-crested airbag, but now I really love the wheel.

It appears to be a factory 996 wheel that someone had wrapped at an upholstry shop. It is much thicker than the 996TT 3-spoke wheel that Joyce (mother) drives. I don't know how long I will have it as she wants it in her car now.
I am going to try to find out how it was 'born' this week.
Thanks,
Michael

I had my hands on that wheel last Saturday at the TRE run. It felt really great and I tried to pull it off. I asked him to get me another but....
It's definitely a 996 air bag, but I've searched and never seen that wrap on the outside before. Did I mention it just felt really good....

I will research it.
Maybe not....
You went out and bought a TT, and all I have is the steering wheel you want. Lets trade powerplants and I will even the trade out with the wheel.

Joe S., I think I just found someone with wheels even cleaner than mine... !

In the interest of spirited healthy competition, anyone have pics of wheels cleaner than Joe S. ? :-)

Rich, I love that shot, the classic chair below the poster... priceless.
That really is a nice art.
