pzkw993:
Didn't mean to insult any owners of Siver, Black or white, they are nice. I guess preference is the name of the game. I love Porsches no matter what color they are but I tend to gravitate towards the "robust" primaries. Siver, as a matter of fact, is one of the nicest and easiest cars to photograph. The pictures always come out good even with my wife taking the shots The light just dances off the finish and really shows the shape. Silver cars always look the best in photos. I would even buy one given the right circumstances and combination... and type of car.

What it boils down to is that I like colors, bright colors... and that is my pref.

David, I like your thinking... I would love to see that, oh yeah!

David in LA - I think a guy in CO has a Viola metallic TTS (not tt) fo sale, around 17k miles. It has been on EBAY and also on Autotrader I think. Relatively new listing, last couple/few weeks.

i agree that as cars get older, the more interesting/different color combos are more desirable and fun.
I love silver and insisted my my 993c2 and then TT be silver - both are silver/black.
But, if i were to buy a 911sc is would get a more 'fun' color or at least a different interior color (silver/red, etc) - a silver/black 911sc would seem boring now.
Therefore, going forward, i think i should have gotten my TT in polar/flemenico instead of polar/black.
Or, if i were to get a 993cab for summer fun, then i think riveria "jellybean" blue would be awesome, eventhough i probably would never have ordered that if i bought the car new in 1997.
Not sure if that makes sense ....

I used www.mobile.de to locate my car.

In the year of ownership, the displayed values on this site have risen by about 10%. Admittedly, the RS is a low number production but there is little evidence at the same site that any 993 prices are falling.

Due to the Euro/USD rates, I was thinking of starting an import car business to the EU. Need a good partner Stateside... anyone interested?

How DARE you suggest shipping 993's out of the U.S.!!! that would be a crime above all others!!

But if you're serious, PM me.

Well, the old supply and demand theory comes to mind. If you want something specifically and there is not enough supply, the value to the buyer is greater.

Nobody wants cat scratch fever.

Here is a nice example of how a silver car shows. It is the hidden in the back but somehow it almost seems to come to the forefront.

Enjoy this one because this may be the last pic you guys will see for a while. If you want to see more of New Years day pics , check out the Pelican board. 911 forum... or you can always visit my website. Workin on my new site wihich is gonna be much better. I will bet this would look good on one of your walls.

Brad, I really love your car to death, it is really stunning.
Here is another you might like. Why don't you hang one on your wall?

Okay this is the last one for a while.

Pzkw, very good comments. I once met a lady who did the color and trim design for the BMW Z3. I asked her why turd brown, signal orange and lime green look so good on an old 2002, but no one in their right mind would think of buying an E36 or E40 in such a color. She said BMW sold a lot fewer cars back then and they were a lot more unique in those days. So like you say, having a classic car makes you want crazy colors more. Now I think of how much I used to hate guards red and here I just bought a guards red '83 SC that I fell in love with at first sight. I haven't had a car pull at my heartstrings like that in quite a while. Sorry for the hijack...
