OK, I give up, how do I get the front sway bar out? The factory manual doesn't even cover it except in terms like "remove"!! How much of the front suspension do I have to take off first? The rear was a piece of cake but the front???

Jim,
Mine came out with lots of twisting and contorting, and that was just me --sorry, I couldn't resist
I removed the right wheel and twisted/manuvered the bar until it came out. It IS a tight squeeze out, and in for the new one. Take your time

Jim,
Everytime I removed the front sway bar on a 993 I was always in the process of removing the rest of the suspension components (shocks and spring).
From hearing what Hank said (he recently replaced his front sway bar), you just can't remove the sway bar without removing the shocks. Well, at least one of them.

Gents,
John and I replaced his stock sway bars wiht the RS adjustable ones on his car AFTER the H&R Coil over kit was installed. We DID NOT have to remove those shocks or any other part of the suspension. With that being said, I am not sure if it is different with the stock shocks or not, although I don't see why it would be?![](http://www.theunholytrinity.org/cracks_smileys/ups/sicdeth/headscratch.gif)
I would remove all the bolts at either end and the bushing bolts and twist and turn and pull and push. I think it will eventually come out.![](http://www.minorannoyance.net/~spin/Smilies/contrib/ed/wink2.gif)
Good luck and maybe someone else will dispute all this. You never know.

Jim,
That's right, I did NOT have to remove the shocks. I've got OEM boingers and was replacing the sway bars with M030 I found used. As you have already found, the rear was a piece of cake. The front bar WILL come out (again, remove the right wheel) but with some twisting and tugging. To my memory, the ends of the bar will contact various parts of the undercarraige and springs: firm but careful pressure and just the right position will convince it. Try to remember the position of the bar just before you pull it all the way out: this will help you guide the new one in in a similar fashion. Hope this helps
