Oil return tube not seating
Finishing up my first oil change, using Robin's site.
I can't seem to get the oil return tube to seat in the engine case. It goes in 1/4 inch and is a little crooked. I can thread the bold and it pulls the tube in towards the engine but the tube seems to be going in a little crooked and the bolt seems like it might start bending the bracket.
I'm afraid of damaging the engine case or the oil return tube.
Am I just being a sissy? can you just crank down on the oil return tube bolt and it will pull the tube in correctly?
TIA!

From the DYI:
"(9).* When reinstalling the oil return line, you may have problems with getting the bolt hole to match up properly. The oil return line is metal, however, if you follow it up about 8 inches, there is a rubber connector section. You can use massage this rubber section to get the bolt hole to line up with the crankcase. In this picture, I have shaded the rubber connector portion in red"

I had the same problem when I did my first change. I used a small head hammer and tapped lightly on the corner opposite from the corner the DIY post tells you to pry on to remove. If you work it in with one hand and tap with the other it will slide in. It will be tough the first half of the tube and then it'll pop in. Just keep it going straight, you don't want to pinch that O-ring.

It turned out that i needed to tighten the bolt with one hand while applying counter-torque to the tube so that as the bolt pulled one side closer to the case, I'd wiggle the other side to keep it even.
thanks guys.
Vic, I thought we were buds...quoting back to me the DIY, c'mon! ;-)
