Default Searched threads - Do I have the right emblem??

I purchased an "s" emblem to replace the broken "s" on my 97 Carrera 4s. The PO had installed a turbo tail on the car and when he put the emblems back on - they were positioned incorrectly (I HATE that). On top of that the "s" that the PO put on appears to be the wrong one. It did not "attach" to the 4 - it was seperate.
SO here's my question. The dealer sent me an "s" with a 996 part number. It appears to fit perfectly into my "4" - so I'm thinking this is the right one. It's bigger than the "s" that was there previously - which I'm guessing was from a 2S.

Do I have the right "S" ??????

thanks...

The "S" for the 4S has a notch in it. The "S" for the C2S does not.

Thanks for the replies. The part # is 996 559 243 00 D04.

After looking at my mats and door sills - I think I'm ok. But I would hate to install it - and be wrong!!

I posted the part number above. Anyone know if it's the correct one?

Rich,

According to the PET, I believe the part # for the S insignia for the 97- should be 993 559 243 01 61W

The part you have is obviously from a 996, but I have no idea if it has been updated with a new number and the 2 parts are in fact the same.

From running the numbers through Pelican this is what I got....

OEM-99655924300D04 C4S INSIGNIA
$18.48

OEM-9935592430161W EMBLEM-S
$14.55

Hope this helps...

I'd do the touch test and try to look at the three-panel mirror. If you were a female, I'd offer to help in answering this particular question.
