Rear wing auto up/down speeds
#16
Hi guys, sorry to reserect this old post! Anyone know how to get one of these modules, or how to modify the existing module to raise the spoiler raise speed? Are any ill effects known to doing this?

Not a direct answer to the Q, but what I sometimes do is raise the spoiler manually (just a quick touch of the button does it when you're between the trigger speeds), then lower it manually just before I arrive at my destination. Avoids the constant up-and-down, but requries me to actually think about it. I'd be interested in a DIY solution.

If you "tap" the spoiler button before you reach 45 mph, the spoiler will rise and stay up until you turn the car off or tap on the down button. This will prevent the spoiler from going up and down until you get the RUF module.

I went out to the car to pull the controller and see what's in there (hoping for a jumper or some such thing that would change the trigger speed), but I can't even find the thing! Where is the control unit located?!?

I just tap my spoiler up manually. It keeps things cooler here in hot Sacramento and I've grown to kind of like the look. MOST importantly.. every bit of cool air has to help.

I doubt that it would work if you were clocked on radar. If it's because of the wear and tear on the spoiler motor, I would rather replace the bearing in that assembly than lose the cooling effect that the spoiler has on the engine. There must be something I am missing here.
