Three Wheelin'
Like many have said above, Excellence is way off base with market pricing...I don't know where Bruce gets his numbers, but he must not be looking very hard...C2 NBs change hands for low 40s if they are low mileage and in good condition...there are some arbitrary numbers that Excellence is using for their "market" numbers. I looked for my car for about 6 months, and every decent car with less than 40,000 Miles was around $40K, even for narrow body cars. I have never seen a widebody in good condition with even 50,000 miles change hands for less than $45K--the really nice ones pull almost $60K or more...

According to some of the above feedback, the price for an excellent c2S could be (considerably) more than the $42,013 listed in the magazine.
Good luck in your search.

Like others said, the car you described would more likely sell closer to $50k. I find it rather silly (IMHO), but the C2S cars are holding their values very well, at least right now. I mean, the C2S doesn't have AWD, LSD, or even the turbo brakes; it's just a C2 with an inch-wider body. Seems illogical to me that there is a $10k - $15k price premium for a slightly wider body, but hey that's what people are paying. So while _I_ agree with Bruce, his numbers don't reflect reality. And his numbers for a '95-'96 C2 coupe seemed a bit high IIRC. No offense to anyone is intended, just MHO.

Remember, the Excellence market values are Bruce Anderson's opinion. Though an extremely knowledgable Porsche tech guy, he has been known to be wrong. In May 2003, I actually heard him say that there is no difference in price between a California car, and a Minnesota or east coast car.

$42K?
The only non-S 993 you could find with that kind of mileage for under $42K would probably have something wrong with it so for an S you're looking at high 40s low 50s. Go to Autotrader. You'll see S models with twice that mileage for $50+K.
You never know. Make an offer and see what he says. There's plenty out there so don't think it's the only one.
