RS Mounts Installed ---( crossthread from 964 board)
Finally got around to installing the RS mounts. PCAR.COM has details instructions on the procedure.
Paragon Products had the best price on the whole kit.
The thing I found strange are torque specs for the two smaller bolts holding the mount to the chasis. I broke all 4 of my old bolts and ended up having to spend 4 hours drilling them out. After buying new bolts I still didn't come close to the specified 40nM.
So for anyone attempting to do the swap make sure to get some new bolts as the older ones will probably have a bit of rust. Do torque the main bolt to the specified 85nM or a bit higher in my case.
The motor mount upgrade did not cure the problem I had shifting out of gears.... I suspect the tranny mount or a rusty input shaft may be the culprit. Will check it out tomorrow and report my findings.
Incidently has anyone else had problems shifting out of 2nd and 3rd while coming to a stop??? Bleeding the slave didn't cure the problem.
To all happy holidays!!!
