Talking My 1st Porsche

Hey everyone -

I have learned a lot from reading all your posts over the last year. This week, we bought our 1st Porsche. We love it! It will be a daily driver/family hauler. I have signed up with PCA and am excited to take the car to some local (Arizona) club events. Any Rennlisters in AZ?

If I have done this correctly, here is a quick pic of the car.

Just wanted to say hey.

John,

Congratulations, and welcome to the board.

I think your garage floor is cleaner than my kitchen table.

Hard to tell, but I think that little sign on the garage door says "No walking, no eating, no nothing" or something like that.

Very nice car! Must be anti-climatic to have so much attention given to the beautiful stand on which you placed the car.

Nope, I think he just did something I always wanted to do as well: Installed a garage door into his living room...

You could probably find a nice interior wood trim package to match that nice floor :-)

Welcome!

Congrats! and welcome to the board.

Is the interior of the car white?

Nice garage, my next mod would be to redo my garage.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Me and my garage floor appreciate it!

Regarding the floor: I did it myself, it was very easy. The stain is "Primary Coatings - Transparent Concrete Stain" and the color "Brown Brick". On top of that is their clear gloss sealer. I bought it at Lowes, Depot doesn't carry it. If anyone wants further instructions, I'd be glad to help.

Someone actually asked about the car, the interior specifically. I have the window sticker, and the interior color was done to sample. So, I don't think it is a standard solor, but it is a white linen color.

For cosmetic mods, I have already replaced the pop-up cassette holder with a change tray. I still want to chrome my exhaust tips and get the clear corner turn signals. I was checking out Gert's site and the clear signals mention not working with bumberettes. Based on the pic of my car, am I out of luck?

Thanks again - John

No, your not out of luck.
There is a source that modifies them to fit US bumpered cars. Someone on this board has them on their car because I remember seeing a picture of them.
If someone else could jump in and give a link to where they could be purchased because that I don't know.

It just popped back into my head. The source is 'By Design'. Still don't know a link though.

BBDad: Try these (http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/inventory/view_product?prod_id=0000000279&part_number=AJR%20631%20061%2006%202SH)

You'll need this shortened version. You will also need the amber dual-filament bulb replacement from Autozone as the one in the clears is a single. I just did the swap and it took 10 minutes (all right: I'm slow!). Awesome, cheap upgrade.

John
Welcome. Nice car, but then most of us have a nice car - but that floor ... wow

Re: clear turn signals, mine were from Rennlist sponsor AJ-USA (good pricing & excellent service). Here's a thread with more details:
