Default Front License Plate Bracket

Hi all,

Us Canuckleheads need to have front license plates mounted. I bought my car in the US and it doesn't have the bracket to mount the front license plate.

Anyone have one that they want to sell me?

It's about $30 at the dealer (US) and only $25 from Pelican...

David,

Are Canadian License plates the same size US license plates? If so I'll send you my bracket for free, as long as I can find where I put it. Are you sure you want to put a plate on the front? I'm supposed to have one as well but I hate the way it looks so I just don't worry about it. I've never been hassled and when I park the car I just throw the front plate on the dashboard in case the cops want to get picky.

Let me know.

The front license plate is better enforced in Vancouver. Occasionally (especially around the holidays) the police will setup Drinking & Driving road blocks. Essentially, they block off a main street and ask nearly every car if the driver has consumed any alcohol. This happens during the evenings... not during rush hour traffic thankfully.

Anyway, if the police don't see a front license plate as you're driving through the roadblock, you run the risk of being ticketed/fined. I know from exeperience

David,

Absolutely no affiliation, but I was looking at the setup sold at http://www.inventivaconcepts.com/fplk.html. Their system lowers the plate so it looks a little better than the stock height. Not recommending, just something to think about.

Dunno about BC but Ontario cops LOVE to give out tickets for missing front licence plates. Plus, the RIDE program nabs you for any infraction (bulbs, plates, etc) when you're stopped at random. Seems a shame to screw up the lines of the car, though, maybe the "wacky little website" method would be the best. FWIW.

We don't have Front plates in Alberta....
I bought my car in Ontario and it had the dreaded front plate....Took it off and got bumperplugs....Come to think of it, it was my first "mod".....bought them before I closed the deal...
If I can find it, it's yours....

Oh, man, as if your non-interventionist government wasn't enough, there's ANOTHER reason to move to Alberta.

I figure if we have to drive in salt and snow and slush and stuff, we may as well have an entertaining car for that, too. And it's the wagon - works great as the official 964 parts carrier! My SO drives a Honda Civic SiR hatch - also a blast. We only live once...
