I did the same, except I'm using up my 17" Mich MXX3 before moving to R tires. Given that I only do 2-3 DE weekends/year I compromised track for a moderate street alignment. You can't maximize both. You can, however, be at the more aggressive end of streetable settings. There are a number of past threads discussing specifics. I'm happy to email you my settings, as well as those of a couple of others.

I really do think that the tires just need to be scrubbed up a bit. I had alignment done about 1.5 years / 4000 miles ago and have only done street driving since...and have never even hit a hard bump, much less any alignment altering impact. The old tires wore perfectly. Dan may be on to something. The "lowering" was very slight, and I felt NO difference after it was done...but maybe because I had the worn 17" up front. Maybe the "altered" alignment due to this lowering is showing up now that I have 18" wheels? However, just going form 17" to 18" shouldn't require different alignment settings should it? I am gonna give it about 500 miles or so, and see if it improves any.

Hmmm, has anyone considered that maybe narrow tires and ligher rims would feel better? This doesn't mean the 17" package would result in lower lap times. Alot of racecars drive like trucks - Winston Cup stock car, which has nice fat tires, good grip, and terrible feel. What about factors like unsprung wieght and transit time for the tire in changing direction? I have driven alot of lightweight sports cars with small tires that feel great - Miata, Lotus, original MR2.

and at some times Allen may pay a bit more attention to the "Porsche Carrera", but do not worry.....it is just a sickness, that cannot be cured. But the good new is.....He will LIve....the bad news...He will attempt to spend every last dime on the Porsche Carrera(ask me How I know) He will develop the attitude of " If I leave it to the children, They will ONLY SPEND IT"

Thanks Dan! I was under the impression that the wheel size makes the difference in the alignement?
I run 1.5 negative camber on all four corners and my car is weight and corner balanced. On the track using P-Zero's it was like on rails but since I melted them in an event and a half I figure I might go to the R rubber. I would appreciate your settings as well for reference.

I thought weight and corner balancing is the same thing...in other words, you adjust the weight to achieve a balance... <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
