Default Where to find someone to drive a car coast to coast?

Thinking of having someone drive one of our cars cross country if it's cheaper than shipping ... anyone gone that route? Where can we find someone (responsible) to do that? Boston to Seattle. (Not a 911, of course.)

May want to check with Intercity (Rennlist sponsor) for their transport rate. I know they had a winter promo for cross country for about 1,300. do not know details. http://www.intercitylines.com

Yea, what kind of car is it? A conspicuous omission if you ask me. 92 Honda Civic or 05 CGT? If the latter can I help with the driving Terry? :

I wouldn't trust anyone with my car, even if it's a 20 yr civic.

If it's an old car, it might break down. If it's new, you don't want to put the mileage on it.

So, better to ship it then to trust someone drinking 5 gal of coffee trying to stay awake after a 8 hr day of driving. Many shipper will go <$1k for cross country, albeit not the better shipper like DAS or Intercity.

With high gas prices and hotel cost, it doesn't make sense to drive anymore unless you are hauling stuff also.

Oops, Vic said "someone responsible". Better count me out, especially if it's a Ferrari. Hey, '92 was not a bad year for Honda Civics.

LOL

I'm not volunteering to drive across country at this time BUT.....

I never allow anything more than bottled water in any of my cars...

..and whenever I drive someone else's car, I do the same and usually take extra care (only exception being rental cars... I admit I tend to eat in them, throw stuff around in them, etc. LOL)

With 5 gal of coffee I could make it without the hotel.

92 Civic could have been the very best vintage ever, but I'm not getting excited about that drive.

Chris. You are such a wild and crazy woman. In rental cars anyone. :

Okay ... 1989 Ferrari Testarossa ... black on tan, Tubi exhaust. Needs a good Italian tuneup on the way. Perfect for picking up aspiring supermodels/starlets hitching to LA. Any takers?

Actually, 2002 Audi TT Roadster Quattro, turbo, 6-speed, silver/gray, 32k miles. Still not a bad ride ;-)

Who's the shipper for under a grand? Intercity and the others were around $1800. Best I could find was $1300 or so.

Terry,

You're almost as old as me. With 5 gallons of coffee, you'd be making pee stops every 15 minutes.
