o.k. guys... I just thought I should clarify...

$500 on ANY 993 (doesn't matter if it is a TT, wide body or narrow body, c2 or c4, etc.) INCLUDES installation. This is for the clear bra paint protection material custom cut for the 993 + Eric's labor time to do the install.

Which includes the following pieces:

Door Edge guards, front fenders, hood, bumper, and mirrors.

For those interested, there is also a thicker 3m material for headlight protection (so you guys don't have to tape up your headlights at the track any more ) available for an additional cost (inquire on price).

Soon Eric will post a seperate thread for LA install session #2 here and on the 993 Turbo forum.

We want to come back out for Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th. of JANUARY 2005.

We need to get 3 993s for Saturday and 2 993s for Sunday.

Appt times would be Saturday 7am, 1pm and 5pm ..and Sunday

What about when its time to wash the car, isn´t it easy that dirt stays in the gap where the clear bra begins? Are there any differences in colour appearence? Is it possoble to wax the surface and to use bug solvent? Plenty of bugs in the summer.
Thinking of having it done to my GT3 next week, same company that installs on the Swedish supercar Koenigsegg.

I've had it on my R32 VW (daily driver) for probably 4 months now and it's been through snow twice already with salt and all sorts of crap on the road..

NO problems with washing..

With wax, you need to be careful just like with the rubber trim to not let it sit on the edges but ON the material itself is perfectly safe to wax!

I'll let Eric answer the question on the cleaning aspect later on as I know he recommends several different products but do not know off-hand which.

MaxtroxMGA,
As far as bug cleaning solvent goes, it would depend on the product. I wouldn't recommend anything that includes adhesive remover. I recommend staying away from the standard bug and tar remover because it is an actual solvent. There are some new products for bugs that are a little more gentle and even more effective but I can't remember the name of the stuff I used last.

Eric,

Was it Plexus? I can't find your email to me that had the name of the cleaner you recommended but I am pretty sure it was Plexus.

Tony,
The websight is www.plexusplasticcleaner.com
I think you have to order it in bulk. I'm going to order some myself and can send you a can if you like. It looks like it will be $6.50 for a 7 oz. can plus shipping. I'll email you when I've got it in my hands.

If you can get 4 of your friends together in one location in a heated, clean, dry, well lit garage for a weekend, we can plan a trip your way as well!

I have just had my 996 done in the UK using a local X-Pel installer and can confirm that the product is very good if installed properly. Much less noticeable than I had expected.

I am looking to have a clear bra done on my car. The current OEM rear fender protectors look horrible. Am I correct in doing things in the following order?

1. remove OEM rear fender protectors
2. clay
3. polish
4. clear bra
5. wax

and if not, what is the correct sequence?
