Unhappy Help! ...My brakes!

Last night I attempted to change the brake discs (rotors). I took the wheel off and I then I removed the two 10 mil hex bolts on the caliper (as per p-car.com diy). The caliper does not want to budge. Also, the rear caliper is different from the front (no 10 mil hex bolts) and I intend to change them too. I have searched archives and found no solution. Please be gentle with me as this is my first ever attempt!!! <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />

Each rotor is held on by 2 brass phillips head screws. These are located in line with the bolt studs. Take these off and the rotors slip off. Be careful not to strip these screws.

And don't leave the parking brake on - rears won't budge if you do.

Ask me how I know...

Those rotor screws are frequently stuck hard. You may need an impact driver to remove em.

Sounds like you may have skipped this part.

On the back of the rear calipers are two 17 or 18mm bolts that have to be taken off to remove the caliper.

Get an impact driver to remove the screws that hold the rotor on and spray them with some WD40 to help loosen any corrosion.

Thanks gentlemen, this gives me something to go at this evening. Another thing,....suspend the caliper while I change the rotors or disconnect the brake line. I am not keen on the dremel tool cutting idea in p-car.com........
