Hi Finn,

There probably is a way to attach it from the inside, in fact you might be able to simply glue it in place. I don't have a close-up of it, but here's an inside shot that might tell you a bit more:

If you'd like I'll check to see if there is a lip or other attachment point that could be used. A race shop installed mine and I'll ask them if another way would have been feasible.

Skip-I would love to get any information you could provide about the carbon sunroof panel. What company made the part? Also, are your fender flares riveted on or are those Dzus fasteners?

Is it the RSR intake that makes the engine look like it is sitting lower than normal? I always wondered why some cars have a gap above the intake. I'd love to have my engine sit lower and have that little extra room to work with.

MA Shaw has the sunroof panels.

RSR engines don't have varioram and that gives it a "lowered" look. Also no AC or heat blower motors, etc and that cleans up the look.

Thanks Skip & Greg.
Once I inquire, I'm sure they'll tell me how it's done but if you Skip see the shop guys or something, I owuldn't mind some extra info.

Skip,

Thanks for the information and the pics. I like the look actually. The fasteners on the outside reminds me of something on a fighter plane. You need to add a sticker with something to the effect of "stand clear - ejection of panel could be fatal to bystanders."

Princeton,

I got the sunroof from GT Racing, which is a distributor. It has a sticker inside that says something like "M<anufactured for GT Racing by ****", but I can't recall who made it. It wasn't MA Shaw, but I suspect it might be a single company that supplies the various distributors.

As Greg states, the engine isn't really lower, it just looks that way. The images on the site are of the original engine and intake, here's a shot of the new items:

This intake obviously doesn't look any lower, but it works quite well.

Sam,

I like that idea. I'm adding some stickers to the car and will try to find one like that.

For everyone's information...
Put myself to work this holiday weekend and got started on my AC removal project. Got the parts out and my scale says condenser unit is 14# 2oz. and compresser is 14# 3oz. Estimate fluid and plumbing (including tank in left fender) at 5#, giving a total of 33#.
Gonna be a warm summer.
