Yes, the Supercup cars always ran 98/93 gasoline. The same gasoline that's required in the street cars.

Nope, you can get 100 octane unleaded at some Unocal 76 stations. Look here:

Unocal 76 Go to 76 Racing Fuel and station locator

And, for those in southern California:

Scott Osborn's 76 Racing Gasoline

If you lived near an airport, could you use aviation fuel to mix with the auto fuel to increase the octane?

congrats on the 993 Supercup 3.8L. The engine in the CUP 3.8L is very similar to any street based 1994/1995 993 engine. Changes 3.8L with real compression, no mufflers, bigger valves in heads, TPS no mass airsensor, slightly stronger mechanical cams. Everything else essentially the same. Gasoline is cheap especially in a racecar since you dont drive it very often......only at the track. I would run 100unleaded .....you dont know the history of the engine....maybe it has been modified by more compression, cam and whatever. Do a compression & leakdown and Gordon will compare it to what he has seen before and see if it within the norm. Keep it stock for PCA 993 CUP 3.8L have their own raceclass now...as GT3s have been separated from 993 CUPs finally.

I do know the history of the engine and it is still "leaded" (i.e. it has the Porsche motorsports official seal) by Sonauto the french dealership that does the work for Porsche motorsports in France and it is absolutely stock. I will run a mix of 100 (1/3) and 93 (2/3).
