Just trade your 996 for a 993 and people won't be able to make fun of you. ;-)

I thought the theme for this board was "The Fast and the Curious," ;-) but now I realize that there are guys out there that want to live up to that other theme... "The Fast and the Furious...I mean, ahem, downright angry!" LOL

Just bumping this to the top. I wouldn't want 996FLT6 to miss the fact that I accepted his 993/996 enduro offer. Where are you?

Hey Radical Racer I'm sure game. Weekends are free preferably Sunday. I'll check and vice versa what track more then likely Thunderhill at Willows to see if we can have a open track. How long of enduro you want? 4-6 Hrs(more or less?)? I'm going to Vegas(Memorial) so will look into it Tuesday. Regards. Mike

While 12 hours would be fun, I think there are a bunch of logisitical issues with getting a track (plus ambulance and a couple of workers) for that long - 4 or 6 hours makes more sense. I will start a new thread for this, so it is not lost (unless someone else wants to grab the challenge and the acceptance and start that thread). Please try to avoid the weekends of July 4-6, July 11-13 and Aug 1-3 as these are race weekends for me. Otherwise I am good for almost any date (including weekdays) that you can get. I will start thinking about details and looking for a co-driver (you really need at least 2 drivers for 4-6 hours for safety reasons).

If you are not a poseur and will really stick to your offer of racing a 993 against *your* 996, then my hat is off to you. I will catch you on the other thread after the weekend.

Wow! I've been gone for a few days and just checked the board. Seems like World War III has started. Hatfields vs. McCoys, Israelis - Palestinians, North Korea - South Korea, India - Pakistan, 993 vs. 996.... And my one line post has started it all.

Someone who doesn't even know me calls me an a$$..., ignorant, stupid, and challenges me to a duel at 20 paces? Is this really what this forum has become?

Man, such hostility over a one line joke. I find it amusing that something so trivial would get somebody so steamed.

Mike, I didn't really mean to bash the 996. Apologies to 996 owners. All Porsches are great cars. It was really directed towards today's PCNA and PAG and the legal mumble jumble that is pervasive in our society. I think you read a lot more into that post than there really was.

Come to think about it, maybe I should've wrote about the Cayenne. "The Cayenne is for recreational use only, they are not for off road use." Before you Cayenne owners challenge me to a duel....

So, I'm not going to make a bunch of offensive sarcastic remarks and get into a silly shouting match. What's the point? It's not why I frequent this board, it's not why I own a Porsche.

<img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" /> Have a cold one and relax.

Eric 993TT-

[So as there are no misunderstandings, the following is tongue and cheek]: How can you be so calm? Your manhood has been directly challenged! Worse yet, your CAR has been insulted! Have you know sense of honor? Have you no sense of right and wrong? Many a man has died defending less!

[The following is serious]: I'll flash my lights at you no matter what car you're driving, you have the right attitude. Class act, like the car you drive.

Ahhh.... not to cause further grief, but the issue here is a very poor translation - the tool kit is not designed to be a repair kit for a given porsche model. I picked that up from the German catalog - seems no one at PCNA can read and understand the language....
J
Still, it's d*** funny. And I love 993's and 996's!!! Shaky on Cayennes, though......

Hey I'm back and hope everyone's weekend is good. I think it would be fun to do this kinda challenge since I need to know how my car can test the rigors of an enduro and if it blows- means new car ie GT3 : ). My car has served me well so let's work this out. I'll email Shannon at Thunderhill and see how much it runs for something like that. Thanks. Mike

Laurence - a few reasons for you to consider:

1. Why respond to idiotic comments. I would have to lower myself to a level which doesn't interest me. My maturity level doesn't allow me to do so.

2. I have no insecurities about myself or my car.

3. Why subject Rennlisters to name calling and stupid inflammatory posts?

4. Did Annika blast Vijay Singh for his comments about her? Nope, she had a lot more class than that. Vijay, on the other hand, withdrew from the tournament.

5. Concerning honor and class. I think everyone will make up their own minds as to who possesses that.

Ciao
