Since I have my first DE coming up at California Speedway, I have a question about pictures of cars in action.

Is there typically photographers at the track that sell these pics to their owners? Kinda like you pick what you want and you order from proofs?

I always wondered. Or, do you all have personal, professional photographers follow you around to all track events?

I know that Willow Springs (both tracks) and Buttonwillow have their own photographers out there generating revenue. IMO, they do a fairly good job on the whole (my avatar is from WSIR via their photographer). Both times I was at Ca Speedway, however, there was no such service. BYOCamera/friend, or there are lots of folks there who would be willing to oblige you, I'm sure. Oh, and enjoy your first DE!!!

Depends, usually at some bigger event there are always professional photographer that sets up a tent to sell pictures.

Personally I am Hank's amature photographer and follows him around to take his pictures. But I do it for free.

Chris, Last year at the Festival of Speed, Chris Huck, who was one of the organizers, took many great pictures of our driver. I'm not sure about all the cars, but we were contacted after the event by a few photographers, some for purchase others for free.

Robin: that's a great pic; it apparently shows Hank watching in the side mirror as the 914 is about to enter his tail pipe.

At Willow Springs, the track photographer uses a high definition digital camera and captures lots of images that you can later review in the gift shop. Very nice quality. It might be a good idea to inform him before the day starts that you are really interested in some shots, and he may make a special effort to capture several shots of your car.

No such service provided by the track at Buttonwillow, but sometimes an independent will setup shop there.

Seen pro photographers at Nelson's Ledges, Mid-Ohio, and Watkins Glen driver's ed events that our region puts on. It's how I got my signature photo. Seem to do a good business.

Last year there were some San Diego region people taking pictures of all the cars on the track. They provided some nice groups of pictures as well. Here is a link to mine last year:
