60K Service question
Just curious as to what is done at the 60K major service. I am at 54K and just want to be prepared for some major $$ when the time comes. Tune up? Spark Plug Wires? belts? Any info would be appreciated. Thx Joe 96 C4 Cab.

Joe,
Check your 993 Owners Manual, a document that very few are fortunate enough to own in this great land of ours, the USA. I believe that the 60,000 is a clone of the 15,000 and 30,000, a bit spendy because of the 12 spark plugs, change of tranny fluid, change of pollen filter, bla, bla, bla. Paying for 993 maintenance is like paying for a divorce, it costs so much...BECAUSE IT'S WORTH IT!!!!! Enjoy your car and keep the shiny side up!!

Spark plug wires not necessary unless you have experienced any problems. Highly recommend replace all belts at 60K whether they look like they need it or not. Mine is at 60K and broken belt is one of the few problems I've had. Prepare to hide some portion of about $1200 from your sig other.

I've heard from my specialist shop, and from this board (I think) that the distributer caps and rotors should also be changed even though that is not mentioned in the service schedule.

Luke ,
ditto the distributer caps.
I had mine done recently at GT one at a major service and it does feel better. The milage also seems to have improved.
