Question Odd Squeeling/Scraping Sound

There has been an odd squeeling/scraping sound from the left rear of my car. What is odd is that as long as I am on a straight away, no sound. Turning right, no sound. Turning left, I get this odd sound. It persists for a while once through the turn (even when the car is at rest), then goes away until the next left turn. Any ideas?

If it possible that it could be the fan belt sensor roller. Those have been known to make that kind of noise.

One test you can do is to remove the roller sensor unit and test drive your car to see if the noise is still there. Of course the fan belt warning light would come on, but if will go off as soon as you install the sensor back in.

Check the DIY section of my web site on how to remove the sensor.
