Post Convert /import a European TT to US? cost?

What is the cost to convert a European LHD car (993TT) to be drive-able in the US?
Since we all seem to want to make our cars “more European”, does it make sense to find a european car?
Is there any arbitrage between the European and US market for a TT?
What am I missing? – maybe the pricing difference is only significant on more expensive items like F360s.

Do a search on the 964 board for "speedster" - a guy was briefly considering importing a 964 Speedster from England to the US; there's some information in the string on the cost of shipping and EPA/DOT conversion.

I think that you'll see that, unless it's a 993 Turbo S (and there is a particularly nice midnight blue/cashmere S for sale in Europe), it isn't cost-effective.

Good luck!
