I've been thinking of the following combination. Anyone have any pics close to it?:

on a black interior...
carbon fibre around the gauges (not full dash)
white gauges
carbon fibre/aluminum shifter
carbon fibre/aluminum brake handle

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the preview! I'm thinking of changing the seats as well, also to black, but the question is what type. I'm planning to learn how to drive on a track, so I might go for sport seats, but I don't want to use a 4/5 point harness all the time. I'd like to keep the stock belts and then swap them on track days, but I don't know how feasible that is. Anyone else do this?

Regarding sports seats, the Porsche seats are nice but are very expensive compared to most. Are they really that much better, or is it the Porsche brand/logo that I'd be paying for? I'm going to cruise the archives to see what folks have installed and try to determine what might be "best" in this area.

To everyone else, thanks for the pics and ideas!

Cheers,

Skip and 993RS (and anyone else interested):

I am getting ready to order a set of new factory Sport Seats from Gert. If you guys are interested, maybe Gert would cut us a quantity discount deal. (I hope to God you're not reading this, Gert!) The price depends on if you want partial or full leather (~$4800 and $5100). Let me know!

Okay, I'll bite. My Recaro SRD is used, and the mouse-chewed hole in the seat bottom is a pleasant reminder that I saved an extra 50 bucks off the purchase price, plus free shipping, when the seller discovered the problem in his attic.

There's no room for the **** to adjust the seatback angle, and apparently the Recaro is known for eeeeaaassssing back into lowrider mode. Hence the visegrips! I thought about getting a special, limited-edition Snap-On pair of visegrips, but I thought that might be a bit gauche...

High,
Lonn doesn't get carbon fibre?, I dont get Lonn, a plastic look alike material? Lonn must be confused, maybe he's thinking of hard rubber or something like that.
Carbon fibre is like heroin, not everybody does it, and when u do it, its hard to stop.

Hey Guys,

I do believe the sports seats are factory but I not positive.
And, I'm not sure if they are supple leather because I don't know what the non supple leather seats look or feel like.
I will take some photos of the back seats tonight when I get home. Then maybe you can tell me

I was surprised about the Porsche Crests in the seats when I took delivery of the car as well. That's the first time I had seen that.

My guess is, it is all factory. My rationalization being, the original owner really optioned this car well. From the Aero kit to the sport seats to the aluminum etc.

I can't imagine anything on this car is aftermarket, otherwise why wouldn't the owner have put in a suspension.

When I first got the car, I listed all the options in a post. I can repost the numbers if someone can break them down. I did get a breakdown before on most of the codes but some of them we couldn't interperate.

C02 XD1 XD2 X52 X71
X97 X98 159 235 373
374 408 425 454 490
498 650 688

00051 09981 09991 16981

Code Option Description
159 Motor Sound Pkg
235 Porsche approved tyres Bridgestone N2 or Pirelli N2
373 Left Sport Seat w/ Power Height Adjuster
374 Right Sport Seat w/ Power Height Adjuster
408 18" Technology Design Wheels [1996]

Well, I learned that partial leather seats have tiny airholes in them, while full leather are smooth with no airholes. Supple leather can usually be visually distinguished from full leather in that they have natural "creases" in them. Looking at the pics again, I'm guessing that B-Line's seats are full leather, but not supple.

Seth,
I don't think those are supple, I can pretty much guarantee that they are not actually.
You know the the supple leather seats when you see them they are more like the seats you would see in an American luxo cruiser, kind of pillow like. I like the std leather better my self.

My car has the 95 version sport seats (which I like much better btw) with the full leather and the crest head rest. I htink I had a specific number for the headrest crest. I will get my car back tomorrow and check for sure.
