Mike A: Nah, it was just Techrom. You place a tab in your hand and rub it-oopsy! Wrong forum....

Laura, Thanks for your hospitality Sat eve. I'm sure Eric will have his own stories soon enough, considering his new roomate's "friends".....

And Marty....Thanks for all your advise, wisdomm and the ride in your 993. It's truly amazing to see what these cars can do when properly set up and driven. No crack shots (just say no), but here's your smiling face again....

That has got to be my favorite post. It just describes everything correctly and in the right perspective. I can't wait to get another 911.

I now have more respect for my machine, the skill of other drivers, finding the correct line.... and a whole lot more. Amazing time there, pics to follow later on. This site is awesome, although I have found myself concerned about upgrades on a car that far exceeds my driving level already. I already called POC to see about the next event. Great time, thanks guys.

Thanks Jim, that's too funny. This will be the third time I've touched a copy of the LATimes this year (morning after Arnold's and GW's victories). Sort of like watching Katie Couric all dressed in black since last Wednesday morning....

Default Great times, now the really good news is.....

cell phone coverage at the track is very poor. Once you are there, you are there, no phones, no TV to speak of, just lots of great friends, old, new and those new friends to come. Think this is sappy? Just come on out to a Streets of Willow POC event...PCA too (Next weekend by the way!) and you'll see what I mean.

On Sunday last, Glen Uslan, POCs Director of the Short Track Series for the past five years (Thanks Glen!), because of the threat of rain, formal timed runs were cancelled. As a result, we get four 20 minute sessions over the course of the day, which is grerat with 110+ cars spread out over five (5) run groups . At the end of the day, your two (2) best times are culled from the days time sheets. The person with the best time in their class wins, AND, is awarded a plaque at the conclusion of the days event.

This eliminates sitting in line waiting to be timed...and it kills off dead time at the end of the day. In addition, in the winter, the last part of the day can be tough because of the sun in one's eyes, on the track, etc. Great idea Glen.

John!

Don't you see, getting sneaky and creative with the topics can toss a man? Especially one who is still reeling from a strikingly similar weekend of uncontrolled passion and revelry. Awesome post, I somehow missed it and posted in my old Willow thread this am and wondered about your being conspicuously absent. And here you were, all along. Bravo. Great pictures too. We had so much fun. Hanging out with everybody was as much of a treat as the driving. You and Alan are great drivers. Without much luck, I tried tailing you both. Alas, ours was a weekend where luck played no role, except maybe for the weather and our good fortune to be blessed enough to drive such wonderful cars in the company of like minded people. There will be other chances to catch you guys. Until then and probably sooner...
