Post Titanium Struts

Titanium struts with 4-way adjustable dampers -- less than one-half the weight of the factory racing piece and far more adjustable.

I see in the background that you are plumbing the car with G-line (Goodridge). Thats probably the lightest plumbing you can get.

Very cool! Are you funding this project?

Greg:

The springs are a dual (main and helper) titanium setup appropriate for GT racing if homologated.

Chris:

G-Line XF is the lightest of the flexible hoses. Purpose built aluminum lines would be even lighter but inappropriate in this instance.

Robert
Please, provide more recovery time. This post coming so soon after your last update is almost too much for me to absorb.

As usual - simply an amazing project & thanks again for sharing.

Viken:

There were some carbon fiber springs made years ago in the F1 world but, at that time, their rate retention was not reliable. Recently, I had been approached by a creator of such springs using another production method. I offered to pay to make several test sets so as to validate claims performance but the party was not interested and hoped to sell the process to a manufacturer without testing -- I am not that courageous.

P.S. One technical suggestion for racers! The -4 hose between the titanium strut and the aluminum (lighter than titanium but not structurally suitable for the strut) canister is PTFE with a stainless steel jacket. To avoid the abrasive effect of the jacket, it has been covered in Raychem. This might also be advisable for those with brake lines with a metal jacket.
