C4S - Turbo conversion?

C4S - Turbo conversion?
Has anyone added a t/c to a C4S, either porsche factory parts or aftermarket t/c? If so, how difficult is the conversion and would appreciate any details to go along with it etc etc.
Thanks

Very easy conversion. Can be done on narrow body or widebody cars btw. Ideally You want from the DME to the exhaust tip including the wiring harness and engine harness. It took us about 7 hours in my barn/shop behind my home to complete it, we had already pulled the 3.8 I sold so that part is not in that 7 hours. Let me know if You njeed any input, I was very very pleased with the result.

We did the same conversion to a 97 c4s. Sold the supercharged engine and swaped in a tt. We did a little mod work to the tt and it turned out GREAT! The car is a blast to drive. Definately go w/ a tt engine.

What is the price for tt engine from Porsche we are talking about?
Just curious about nowdays price.
I saw one about 23000$ long time ago...
Thinking of that price, and comparing to other turbo conversion price range, it was a great deal to have whole package out of box with that price.

Okay... so a good C4S runs between $45-$50 and a TT engine goes for $20K+... I am no accountant, but I think that I would go for a really nice factory TT for the same price. Now in Singapore, because of the tax issue, a TT engine swap might make sense.

In a sense, 993 is all subject to this matter. So, since it doenst have to be wide body, I guess 30K(High milage 993 from 95) + 23K + labor charge and we have well refined TT engined carrera.
Isnt this sound sweet deal?

The hardest part was to find a complete drivetrain intact from the DME to exhaust that wass low mile and in good shape. I was the one who paid 23k for that drivetrain with 12k documented miles. It literally took me 1.5 yrs to find the right drivetrain and I thought that price was very fair. At the time many thought that was expensive but after looking for over a year I have the opinion that that was very fair for the whole solution. There are plenty of"well its just missing a few pieces" situations and those are a recipe for disaster. Do not forget that when You convert a non turbo chaassis that the front wiring harness for the non turbo is also slightly different so You must jumper the #26 relay to make the fule pump turn on when You turn the key, otherwise the car will crank but not fire. You can also use the existng main wiring loom but You will need to use the secondary distributor circuit for the wastegate circuit so it requires repinning the connectors a bit but still can be done. Best solution is to get the Turbo main harness and engine harness but don't worry about the front harness just solve that problem with the jumper on the 26 fuse.

We paid 22K for our tt engine a couple of months ago. DME, exauhst, haress ect.... We didnt have the fuel pump issue with ours. Replaced the engine harness w/ the turbo one and it fired right up. Maybe it a was the later year model difference. The reason we went with a conversion instead of just buying a turbo was the owner spent allot of money and time gettign the rest of the car EXACTLY the way he liked it. (custom interior bits, suspension ect..) It had a TPC supercharger kit on it and he wasn't happy w/ the power. After we were done it made 443 to the rear wheels and he is content A narow body 993 turbo would be a serious sleeper and tons of fun

Father of 3 , while I was looking for the TT I built my 3.6 into a 3.8(worst $ I ever spent, complete waste) but it was a good exercise. The 3.8 kit when I bought it was @6k and now I believe it is closer to 14k. I built a close ratio gearbox which I sold to a certain Rennlisterwith a STOCK Black C4S who also bought 2 sets of my wheels....lol and the 3.8 I spun a bearing in racing and still sold it for 15k. By the way on my TT drivetrain purchase that did also include the Transmission which has a larger ring and pinion and stronger case. Cory, my chassis was a 96 so perhaps the OBD2 cars dont need to be jumpered?
