Bill, bring a journal and some Mobil 1 and your digital camera.

Enjoy the expereince it - the first few hours only happen once and you my friend are in for a treat!

Paid too much? Yes. Way, way too much!! So what!

Get on with your life you didn't buy a toaster, you bought a fine car that you will grow to love very quickly - and she'll love sleeping in your garage

What's a 996????? Certainly doesn't have anything to do with a 993! Only you know if you paid too much b/c only you know your situation but think of it this way....let's assume that you should have paid in the mid 30's (if you did we would all be jealous, but let's say you did). That would be $8,000 "too much" or all of $2.19 per day if you keep it for 10 years!

ENJOY and be sure to smile at all those 996's that you pass.

Congrats on your purchase - and like everyone here said, don't think twice.

Quick question - Would a 993 C2S be in approximately the same ballpark? I'll be looking for one around in less than year as my Bimmer is almost paid off...woohoo!

I've been trying to give myself buyer's remorse by looking at online ads on eBay, rennlist, etc. but still have yet to find a '95 at the price I bought mine with all the doodads included (though i've found bog-standard 95s for less, but by not much).

What I've realized in search for the perfect 993 is that when you're buying used, you can't go down the option box and ticking the features and mods you want like you would for a new car.

The fact that you've purchased this car obviously meant that you found something that had what *you* specifically were looking for at a price that you were willing to pay. Traditional economic theory says that the price of a good is reflective of its "utility" to you. A lot of people think we're nuts paying the kind of $$ for a 5-8 year old 993 when you could pick up a new 350Z, G35, WRX, or Evo for a lot less, but we all know why we own these cars and not the latest pocket rocket.

Tomorrow, another C4S will come by but it will be in the wrong color, or has been modded differently, or has not been cared for, etc. etc.

It's tempting to look at car ads online at make a quick judgment call but unless you drove the car, or at least, did a remote PPI, you could never say for sure as to whether the car advertised is fair market value.

Back when I was looking last November I had not seen a C4S advertised for less than 48,9 and that car was a '97 w/ 60K on it. Most were in the mid $50's. I know their values are lower now I still see these cars advertised in the $50K range.

Just curious (as I bought my '97 C4S about 4 months ago), what's everyone's take on the value of a perfect (and I mean prefect) 97 C4S with under 13k miles, had a 30k service done rather than the 15k, new rubber (S03), and Gert's FPB! Sport seats, hifi, sunroof, rear wiper, blah, blah. Adding invincashield next weekend, may do M030 in a year..... BTW, PPI is perfect, as was leakdown, etc. Ocean Blue/grey with midnight carpet.

I'm curious how much it has theoretically depreciated - assume no M030 yet (and, no, I won't say what I paid!) according to you guys.

Be the ball.

I agree with Randy....That's what I paid 5 months ago for my 97 C2S, and it is perfect!
I still see ads in Autoweek for C2S and C4Ss in the high $50s.
I don't think about what I paid for my car or what it's worth now..... If I could just stop thinking about how much I lost last year in the market!!!!!

Wink

Sounds like a super deal. My 96 4s just turned 30k, I would hope it would bring more than that.

And don't worry about the 99s, hell in a few years you'll be able to buy a 996 TT for current 993C4S prices!

Buy the car and don't look back. At the way the 993 depreciates, even if you think you paid more for it now, it probably won't matter much anyways.
