Help: Alarm Gone Crazy
Hi guys,
My alarm went crazy after I used the key to open the door in my '96 C4S. So here is the sequence of events.
1) lock car with transmitter but car refuses to unlock using transmitter. I could hear audible clicking sounds as the signal was received but no unlocking.
2) frustrated I used the key to open the door and of course, the alarm goes off. initially, not knowing the arcane procedure porsche describes in the owner's manual I sure I screwed up the sequence of events to enter the key code. After carefully reading the procedure, I am still confused because the lights do not come on and off as described.
3) after several unsuccessful attempts to enter the key code, I disconnected the battery. now the car is sitting immobile in my garage.
Any suggestions?? Any way to defeat the system so I could drive the car to the dealer?
Thanks <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Worst case, there is something wrong with your alarm. Best case, your remote needs a new battery. Either way, I am afraid you are already down the road of having to do the arcane procedure described in the manual.
There is no way to "bypass" the system. Make sure your car battery is well charged. Reconnect the battery, then attach a charger & then retry the alarm function. The Drive Block system will not function properly w/a weak car battery.
BTW, I would not leave the car battery disconnected for a long time. That can cause added problems.
