Post front swaybar number??

I just looked at the sway bar I took off of the front of my car ('97C2S) to install RS sways. The part number has me confused-993 343 701 00 . I measured it to be 21mm in diameter (albeit with a cheapy caliper). the sway bar bushing part number is 964 343 792 22 ; which the PET shows to be for the 22mm bar of the M030 suspension. the rear sway bar measured 17mm. yes, the car plowed! If the '701' was a '707' in the part number, it would make more sense. here is a picture of the part number

any ideas what this is? max

North American Carrera S:

Standard: 20 mm F / 17 mm R
M030: 22 mm F / 18 mm R

My guess is you have the standard bars unless your car was factory fitted with the M030 option.

thanks for looking Viken. the PET shows a 21mm bar with a 707 in the part number, (instead of the 701 visible on my bar) and, i measure it to be 21mm, although i wish my real vernier caliper wasn't 1800 miles away. I am not the original owner of the car, so it may have been changed at some point by a PO. What model was the 21mm front bar used on?? Not a big deal, just a little curious; I'm having too much fun enjoying the new suspension and RS bars to worry very much about this! later, max

After that, they would have installed 20 mm front bars. However, Porsche is known to install stabilizer bars which were not necessarily dedicated to a particular model. The Carrera S should have had either 20 mm (M032) or 22 mm (M030) installed.
