I stand 5'5" with a short torso. I'd like to raise my aftermarket Recaro sport seat an inch+ since it's already at the top of its vertical travel. Anyone done this before and have any recommended parts or experiences to share?
My car's going to EPE outside Boston for the install (great shop, as many of you know) so I'm most interested in what parts work best. Thanks.

Haven't done it in my p-car (I'm 6'-3"), but you could probably have some spacer blocks fabricated to sit between the seat and the mounting holes in the floorpan.
They could be as simple as 1" thick blocks of aluminum/steel/hardwood drilled to allow the seat mounting bolts to go through. Or, you could have the spacers permanently attached to either the seat or the floorpan of the car.
Of course, you'll need seat mounting bolts that are 1" longer too....
Good luck,

Here is a Porsche part for raising the seat 1/2 inch. the seller states it fits up to model year '86. Not sure of a change in mounting after that. Sorry, not much help, but at least there is a picture to look at and a porsche part number. max

The seats mount flat to the floor, so the spacers can be pretty simple. I'd suggest 1"x1"x0.125" square tubing running front to rear & spanning the mounting points.
Drill small holes on the bottom of the spacer to bolt spacer to floor. Drill large holes on top of the spacer to allow access to the bolts going in to the floor. Decent allen-head bolts are available at Home Despot or Lowes, size M8 I believe.
Use a rivnut or spot-weld a nut inside the top of the spacer and bolt the seat to the spacer as it used to bolt to the floor. Aircraft Spruce can supply rivnuts or nutserts, although I don't see a metric size in the catalog.
If you feel that nothing exceeds like excess, you could weld a piece of 1x1 across the mounting pieces to make the shape of an H and ensure that the mounts don't fold over in an accident.
I recently put SRDs in my car and built brackets to put the take-off stock seats in a non-porsche, so I've been looking way too long at the way they mount :-)
