"Le Man" has to be the best racing movie ever and I agree fast forward throught the dialogue which there is thankfully very little. "Grand Prix" is a close second. Lastly let me add an obscure James Garner film from 1969, actually a semi-documetary "The Racing Scene."

Just wanted to thank everyone for responding with their informed opinions.
As 993Dave said "Around this crowd, though ... it's like a whole bunch of me, but more successful, knowledgeable, etc."
I suspect it makes us all feel better about being such 993 nuts to see that we are not alone. It is hard to find people that feel the way we do about our cars and so reasuring when we find people that do.
I thank you all, I now have a complete set of movies to watch. I'm slowly trying to turn my girlfriend into a car/golf nut like me with limited success. Maybe a movie or 3 from this thread will help turn her. The rain will help give me some time too.

I'm shocked that nobody has mentioned H.B. Halicki's original version of Gone in 60 Seconds. It has one of the greatest car chase scenes in movie history - 40 minutes long and they end up wrecking 93 cars. Anyone heard of Eleanor?
The re-made version with Nicolas Cage isn't even worth mentioning.

I just came back from Blockbuster and they don't have Le Mans. They've heard of it just don't have it. Damn I was really looking forward to a raining night with my soon to be car fanatic girlfriend watching Steve M. No Grand Prix either! Maybe when the rainy season hits in full I'll try a month of Netflix and get all of them. I even tried to rent the old "Italian job" but someone had obviously read this thread and checked it out just ahead of me.
