Well, I'll preface this recommendation by writing that the movie itself isn't very good. The movie is called No Man's Land from 1987. It starred Chuck Sheen, D.B. Sweeney and Randy "Franken"Quaid. It's about an undercover cop who gets involved with a ring of car thieves who steel? Only Porsches. So, you get to see a lot of 3.2s. The best line of the film is when the undercover cop suggests stealing a Ferrari and Charlie Sheens character replies, "Italian trash, besides, I only steal Porsches." Not great acting, but lots of eye candy.

Matt

How can any Porsche lover say anything other than Le Mans??? The quintessential Porsche movie. This rotten script is nothing to get excited about but who cares. You fast forward through the stinkin dialouge and get to the racing. Gulf Porsche 917 mixing it up with the Ferrari 512... the best. And who could resist that long tail as it accelerates down past the grandstands upon completing lap one. You must have you 5.1 dolby cranked up for that.

That is hilarious! I was thinking of the same movie. Lots of cool P-cars in that one.

Hello all, I am new here and taking in the vast knowledge of the board. I am hoping to get into a 993 in the next little while. Working two jobs so that day comes sooner than later.......Here's a photo of McQueen in his 911s at the beginning of Le Mans, classic.

Now I'm feeling terrible that as a kid my favorite actor was probably Steve McQueen. I loved him in Papillon, Bullit and the Great escape, etc. but I never saw him in Le Mans?! Hopefully Blockbuster which I thought had a pretty sad movie selection will have it in stock. Can't wait, I'll get as many as I can find, thanks to everyone for your input.

And Chris you were in the film? I must admit I didn't expect we had Actors guild members here

That reminds me of the time Mqueen and I diced it up on Coldwater Canyon back in about 73. He was in his coupe and I was in my targa and we were smoking up the hill from Ventura Blvd to Mullholand. That was a load of fun and a sprint I will never forget.

Really, no kidding. He had his shop on Lankershim Blvd so I used to see him quite often. In those days Porsche owners used to flash their lights at each other as a rule. I used to cross his path so often that we would not only flash but smile and wave to each other. At the time he was with Allie Mcgraw and I used to see them together on occassion. Ah, those were the days. Porsche ruled the racing world and all was well.

Rendezvous....about 15 minutes long, a Ferrari driving across Paris in the wee hours of the morning...incredible, all real stuff, no camera trickery, so they say.

I'm not a motorcycle guy at all, but On Any Sunday is one of my alltime favorites - an absolute classic.

How can you skip "The Italian Job" (at least the original; haven't watched the ripoff)?

Also, hard to match the chase sequence in "The French Connection". "The Seven-Ups" and "Bullitt" are other good ones.
