I found the book, "Porsche 911 Buying Guide" by Leffingwell @ Barnes & Noble - it has a very detialed checklist in the early chapters on how to do your own PPI before you take it to the mechanic. It is a thorough check of the car. It was helpful to me. Good luck. (Not affiliated with book or B&N).

In a similar vein, GT magazine (and probably also 911&PW) have published buying guides. If you don't have access to back issues, let me know. I might be able to get you a copy.

you have a lot of class. I will bet your name is amusing too. Oh, I am sorry! I see you live in the capital of civility.

Wow! Just a little kidding around there freeman. I apologize if I offended you or anyone else!

Thumbs down

you are very offensive. since you are not a member, stop contributing your offensive opinions. I am sure that Mr. Lovelady is a better mechanic than you are in your own profession. Keep your opinions to NYC. The rest of the country does not want them.
