Question Parts Vendor

I plan on doing much of the maintenance requirement for my p-car this winter. Where does anyone suggest for parts such as filters, distributor caps and rotors, etc.? My local Porsche dealership is usually not competitive when it comes to pricing. Related question: I thought I read there is a Porsche specific tool (actually socket type tool) sized for the oil filters. Is there or will any oil filter type socket tool work?

Brian,

Call Phil at Suncoast - Rennlist Sponsor - an dask for the PCA and REnnlist Member discounts - you are a member of both right??

Very competitive off the bat, then with the discounts very good. That is also where i got my filter wrench. Might as well get the alternator tool and a spare relay at the same time.

Good luck,

E. J.

Check earlier posts and try an archive search; I made the recommendation a few days ago to use Stoddard Imported Cars. Prices listed for comparison to other vendors.

I second EJ's recommendation on Phil Anderson at Suncoast Porsche in Sarasota, FL (877-923-1700 or panderson@automaxplus.com ).

I've ordered about a gazillion parts from him, and always found him to friendly and knowledgeable, with competitive prices.

Sunset Imports sells P-car parts for cost + 15% + shipping (Washington/Oregon residents excluded). Tough to beat.

For example, the local dealer wants some $1150 (list) for a climate control unit ... Sunset sells it for dealer cost ($740) + 15% = $851 + shipping.
