rear spoiler curtain
Hi
Great site and thanks for the help I have been given so far!
Can anybody tell me how much and where I can get a new plastic curtain for my 993 rear spoiler.... the one that goes up and down with the spoiler? Mine has ripped!
Is it worth buying it from porsche direct or are non porsche suppliers supplying a similar quality product. Anybody bought one recently.
Help and advice welcome on who to buy from
Regards
Colin

Get it from Sunset like Dave suggested. I just did recently and it took about 45 minutes to install. Very easy.

Colin,
There are many threads on replacing the spoiler wall, many of which do not require removing the spoiler as is directed in the following link from Robin's website (http://p-car.com/diy/spoilerwall/). I've replaced the wall without removing the spoiler and it's a breeze. Less than 30 minutes start to finish.

Just did mine without removing the spoiler - all you need to do is partially lower the spoiler using the manual switch which makes it easy to remove/reinstall the lower end of the folding wall. Then move the spoiler to fully open to push on the top slot - use a lubricant like liquid detergent to ease it into place. About twenty minutes.

I got mine from Pelican parts. Just like John say, it's way easier to remove and replace without disassembling the whole wing. I disassembled mine 'cause I applied lubricant on the bushings and rest of the moving parts.

About 3 months ago I found that my spoiler curtain was ripped and needed replacing. I bought mine from Viper Bob and have had it in the closet since then. After reading this post I decided it was time to install it. I am not very good with the DIY stuff. Ten thumbs. However, after reading Subdrivers and StevoUK's post that it was so easy, I decided to give it a try. My god, it was soooo easy. I removed the top first with the spoiler all the way up, then lowered the spoiler half way and removed the lower part. The bottom of the new piece was very easy to install with the spoiler at the half way point. Then raised the spoiler and used some Lexol vinyl cleaner as a lubricant and attached the top piece. Fifteen minutes max. Easy DIY due to this board.

Totally seemless DIY. Thanks to Chuck (again!) and others for the 411. I used a little kitchen soap to slip the end portions of the spolier wall on, then the rest just followed suit.
