Post Any Tips for Faded Convertible Top?

The black convertible top on my '91 C2 is looking somewhat faded, but is otherwise in excellent condition. Are there any treatments to restore some of the color to the top? I've seen Raggtopp cleaner and protectant advertised, but I don't think that these will make the top darker. As crazy as it sounds, I've even thought about dyeing it black, using permanent clothing dye. Does anyone have any suggestions (other than a new top)?

I would dye the top with a product from http://www.colorplus.com. If you can send them a sample of your canvas they will provide the same dye lot for the canvas. I have not done this personally, but know it can be done.

Probably would try a small area first, or the boot before applying to complete top.
