Century Brevara for 1.5 year old?
I cannot believe my luck today, I just spotted the Century Brevara child seat right here in Muscat . Imagine, of all the hundreds of child car seats out there, someone chose to import the one model that is "Rennlist Approved" here .
My question is: will our 1.5 year old girl be OK in this seat?
So far she has been in the more enveloping model seats, but she's a big girl at almost 85 cm now and over 12 kg (28 lb). Does anyone have good experience with a kid this young in the Brevara?
Any input will be much appreciated, TIA

Nol,
I didn't put my son into a booster type child seat until he was 2. He was on the light side at 2 (24 lbs); tall enough though.
If you can try out the seat for yourself, that's probably your best bet.
I ended up buying the Recaro Start booster. It doesn't fit in the 993, however, it fits just fine in our A4. For now, he's in his britax roundabout and getting scrunched in the back seat. He's happy albeit not very comfortable.

I have a 21 mth son weighing 26 lbs & standing at 36 in tall. For now, I use a Britax convertible (similar to the new Porsche convertible child seat) in the rear seat of my 993 cab, tight fit but best for safety reasons. I think boosters are recommended for children weighing 40lbs and 2 or 3 yrs old (not sure). Brevarra is a good fit for rear seat.

Nol,
Booster seats are ok for 30+ pounds, (that's what Century says) providing, of course, that your child "fits" it -i.e. not too short or tall for the physical confines of the seat. I use the Century in the backseat of my 993 with my very petite 34lb 4 yr old daughter, and feel pretty secure about it. Regarding your 1.5 year old @ 28lbs...I'd think twice about a booster for now. Perhaps it's just me but I always like to err on the side of caution.

My middle son is 3...will be 4 at the end of March and he fit in a booster in the back of my coupe. He is in the 50th percentile in height and weight, so he's just barely suitable to use a booster I think. My 5 year old also uses a booster and he fits fine.

Thanks guys for your replies.
She is indeed just below the recommended minimum weight and size, albeit just by an inch and 2 lb, but I'll be patient. I'll get myself the seat as a Christmas present (and hope she puts on weight over the festive season as I do ).
Thanks, Nol
