I am also interested in replaceing the suspension on my 993TT.I have spoken to several shops/techs regarding the various systems available.I spoke to Andrew today at Ruf and he said they had their system on a special discount at $2,450.00 US.The regular price is $3,250.00 US.The way he described the system was Bilstein shocks valved to Ruf specs with no valve adjustment only ride height.The set comes with Ruf springs which are not progressive and no sway bars.The sway bars are additional and he did not have pricing as yet. I requested some info/literature and was told none was available and that they had no specs or comparison relative to valving or spring rates.I beginning to believe the Bilstein PSS9 set-up offers much more flexability and adjustability than the other set ups.I hope to drive a TT with the PSS9 set up soon so I can make my final decision. <img src="graemlins/wave.gif" border="0" alt="[byebye]" />

Hey guys,
If I am interested in autocrossing and tracking my 993 Carrera 2 cab on weekends, which set-up is best?

I currently have the original shocks with the H&R lowering springs. I could just get the Bilstein HD's (like Robin has tested) to match up with my existing springs, or I could opt for one of the PSS-9 set-ups.

Which do ya'll think is best? What are the differences in the PSS-9 set-ups that I saw on Gert's page? He seems to have three or so options.

Just to give you a frame of reference, the standard product cost at Bilstein to assemble a set of PSS9s is about $500. I have this on pretty good authority.

Ruf buys their shocks from Bilstein...and may in fact have Bilstein install their "custom" valving.
Ruf buys their springs as well.

Don't expect a super deal on a group buy, IMHO. I hope I am wrong.

That sounds pretty reasonable, since it might work out to a 100% mark-up from Bilstein to the dealer (about $1,000 - $1,200) and a 50-80% mark-up to the consumer ($1,700 - $1,800).

Anir, I took my wife for a ride and on purpose I went on a bumpy off ramp... I exlaimed loudly "Oh my God this suspension is shot! Did you feel all this movement??? " She kind of looked puzzled and had to agree as I ranted on on how the suspension should keep the car planted , blah blah blah...

After a few "demos" she was convinced that I should be safe especially driving the car on the track!

If my wife gives me grief about a proposed car upgrade, I just start talking about how much I miss riding the Duc. Works like a charm.
