Well for the sake of adding pricing info for So. Ca. folks, my '97tt is costing me $436.00 every six months with the usual multi car, accident free discounts, etc. I'm also a STATE FARM agent and pay the same as my other clients. FYI...

So do you want to tell me State Farm's policy on paying/denying claims?

Well, maybe if you drove on the correct side of the road rates would be lower ...

Dylan,

This is a public forum used by those of us who have special interests in topics posted. In this case, pricing info. You are free to post as you like, of course. I've been in this business for a very long time and prior to my current role I represented over 50 companies as a major loss adjuster. I picked my current company from those 50 based upon my personal experience. Most folks know that there are two sides to every story. As an outsider to your situation I'd prefer not to comment.

Regards,

Bill

This meant I was kidding Bill, I'm pretty sure no-one expected you to answer that question, public or private. As for Insurance companies, if they are as good as it gets, God help us. (Not a personal attack either Bill so please don't take it that way).

BradB...Please don't bring this issue up in front of Debbie until AFTER I've found mine! She'll hit the roof if she hears about the extra grand a year! Once I have the car, it will be too late to do anything about it.

Hey Dylan, I know we are all just trying to get it down the road and have a little fun along the way. Since we are in the same neck of the woods we'll no doubt have oppertunities to swap war stories from time to time and I'm glad to see that your humor proceeds you.

Hey, just call my thoughts on Insurance companies a bitter response. A five+ year battle with an Insurance company will do that to you! I'm all for some tips on how I can reduce my insurance premium? Problem is, I landed in New York, got my lunatics (learners) permit, but never had the time to get the full license. So no history, a NY learners and an expensive(ish) car. Maybe I should do the International license, that way I might be able to avoid the tickets?

Anyway, my previous comments are just my experience, not everyones. It's a forum for advice and if all I've done is got you to check your policy, then that something. Good luck insurance hunting. Make sure your share the money saving ideas.

Cheers,
Dylan.

Anoher vote for State Farm; $660/yr in the suburbs of Steelertown. Been with them ever since I got my '76 911S when I was 24 - no other company would cover me (I filled out a Geico application that came in the mail about 2 months ago for a laugh; they said they couldn't help me. As if I'd ever go with those jackasses). I was still listed as a "good driver" even after getting my license pulled for 2 weeks for accumulating too many points against my license.

RE the on-track coverage; folks that went thru it said they were covered after a major battle. They were told, tho - DON'T DO IT AGAIN!!!!!

There are companies that supply supplemental collision insurance for track driver'e education events. One in our newsletter is McElhinny Insurance Agency; see link. The agent, Tim McElhinny, is a big participant in our race track driver's education events.
