Joe:

Keep on thinking about squeezing kg/grams out of the rear:

1. carbon fiber induction system;
2. carbon fiber electrical connection box;
3. presume you have carbon fiber engine lid/wing and carbon fiber rear bumper cover;
4. carbon fiber transmission housing;
5. carbon fiber bell housing;
6. lightweight hoses (suggest G Line XF - I have no affiliation with Goodridge, it is just the best lightweight hose);
7. 4130 tube anti roll bar;
8. titanium/aluminum drop links;
9. ceramic brake disks (need, however, proper cooling setup) with aluminum rather than stainless steel bells;
10. aluminum lithium calipers.

If your primary goal in the weight savings is to lower the polar moment of inertia and move it closer to the center of the car, you might as well move the motor. Just turn the motor around, put it in the back seat and flip the gearbox 180 degrees.

Robert
I appreciate your posts they are enlightening and pushing the performance envelope. Everything you mention is perfect for all out racing in the "unlimited PCA "GT" class".

However, PCA has "stock" racing classisfications only allow certain changes to "stock' Porcshes that the majority of us clubrace. Actual minimum weight must be maintained all weekend for stock class cars and modifications are minimal at best....only any exhaust system or airfilter or shock absorber may be used is allowed and I am being brief.

I could only use your engine and sleep well at nite knowing that engine will spool up faster that a "chainsaw" to keep out out infront of the Walczak twins in their 5.4Liter engined 993s.

Please keep up the photos and data. Its beyond great.
best regards
